Local folks,
local radio

We’re brought together by an interest in Meshtastic, radio technology, and off-grid communication. SoMdMesh is a place for learning, experimenting, and connecting with fellow hobbyists.

Our group runs on the time and enthusiasm of volunteers. Whether you’re discovering mesh networking or already enjoy working with radios, that shared curiosity is what brings us together.

This site is just a jumping off point for folks to get connected quickly. As meshes grow and change, it isn't always easy to find the right settings to get connected.

I (the website maintainer) am just another radio junkie in Southern Maryland. I run a few nodes myself and participate in experiments and various projects, but I don't make decisions for the community. The information on this site is what has been provided to me by various community members and occassionally updated when information becomes defunct or changes.

If you have a cool project you'd like to feature on the site or find something incorrect or outdated, please get in touch at somdmesh@gmail.com.

One thing to keep in mind is that the mesh networks are decentralized and are not controlled by anyone (let alone me). I can only help to share information and connect folks together. It's like the early internet ;)

In most cases, I should be able to respond in a day or two. But if not, please be patient - this site is maintained by a grey beard on his free time.
